sat tv at Uluru

Having trouble tuning a satellite at Uluru, is this normal? I have informed vast rego that I am in NT and they changed the settings but I still cant lock onto a satellite. Maybe in one of those black spots??

Thanks for all and any help

Bas

Hi Bas

my online calculator says C1/D3 is at   LNB 41.6  AZ 043 deg mag  and ELEV 49.3 deg.

Here's the link.

We had no problems anywhere there.

Cheers Baz

EDIT  LNB would be a +41.6 as no minus sign in front.

Forgot to ask are you finding any other satellites???? You say it's a tuning problem so assume you are finding C1.

If not check cables - we had a dodgy fitting, I cleaned with PC board spray cleaner, no problems since.

Good scanning.

There are places where getting a good signal is difficult. We are Sth of Karratha, max signal Quality 50% Max signal level 62% and quite a lot of fine tuning to get that. However picture on all channels is good. I was still on Qld as far as VAST was concerned and thought that was probably the problem, so changed to WA, that made no difference signal quality & level didn't change. Talking to others here all say signal is lacking in this area, some cannot get a picture at all, others get better than we do but not as high as usual. We were at Uluru a couple of years ago, I know we got the TV working but cannot remember the strength.
