When i lived in England over forty years ago, there used to be people (and i use that term loosely ) that congregated on any spare bit of land, by the side of the road anywhere, after a while the area would be that degraded with rubbish and rat infested.
Councils would try and move them on, they in turn would reply that they were being victimised they were only poor gypsies.
Well i worked with a gentleman who referred to himself as a rommany a true gypsy by name (DIGHTON) others were LEE"s and BOSWELL, and the other people were called didicies and were all low life"s.
well i am only repeating that what i saw and heard and can confirm that this is true, and they spoil things for other people.

many people think UK gypsies are from Europe, but in fact the majority of them are Irish and each year they commute between the two countries. Many of them are wealthy - usually through illegal activities like prostitution, stand over tactics with local businessmen and drugs. They are not likes or wanted in Ireland either

From what I have read these so-called 'Travellers' are legally allowed to camp anywhere they please - such as on town commons or in farmers fields. They invariably leave a mess and destruction of property where ever they go.
there was an interesting doco made by the BBC and on the ABC earlier this year about the problems with some gypsies (not all of them are bad).
Apparently they take advantage of "free" land that goes back many 100s of years ago that most UK people have no idea about. When they hit a local authority for the first time, the council try to get rid of them - only to have the equivalent of the Magna Carta waved under their noses.
"Free" land is often in the ownership of people and have been bought and sold many times without anyone being aware of this very old knights of the round table law that still applies

Unbelievable that that oh I don't know there not human how can they leave all there sh t behind like that are there no bins provided? Are there no littering laws there? Are they, well not even animals leave a mess like that,mperhaps the should get names and addresses on entry then photography there camp site during the event then when they leave there rubbish behind event orgaiasers should pick up the Sh t they left behind and take it to there home and throw it over there front fence, I am flabigasted can not believe these selfish a holes, stunned just stunned
