I've got a couple of mobiles using the Aldi mobile service. Noticed last night that when I used one phone to call the other (checking ringtone), I was charged 12 cents for each call, despite that fact they were not answered.
Now, I have no gripes at all with the Aldi service, but I wonder if it is normal practice to charge for such unconnected calls? Do other providers do this?
Cheers, TonyD

Hi Tony. Ive got phones with Virgin and Telstra and sometimes phone one from another to find the missing one............never been charged for what is a missed call (unless it goes to voice mail - in which case you will be charged).
Aldi is a cut down Telstra service. No doubt you haven't kept the email contract Aldi should have sent you (doubt if any Telco provides a paper one now) - why don't you google Aldi and find their mobile phone service. I understand they have a legal obligation to provide a contract, so guess they have one on-line to view as well. No doubt it will be covered on page 310 of the contract offer lol. Otherwise complain to the Telco Ombudsman - it maybe minor, but why let these guys screw the public over

Tony - You need to logon to your account at aldimobile.com and see if the call actually took place because it should not have happened - also check the actual call log on you phone to see if it agrees with the account details. Better to check this before blaming them.
