Qld v NSW in S.O.O. Nrl.

It is on again.

The annual State Of Origin between two great states namely Queensland ( mighty maroons) and New South Wales (so called Blues)

Being a true blue Aussie, I would like to see the Mighty Maroons take the trophy to North of the border Here is hoping for a great contest in all three matches.

Oh!!!! I forget to mention I am a QUEENSLANDER, so go he Mighty Maroons.

Jay&Dee

I love the way the NSW COACH has a secret talk to the refs, and when the QLD coach does it out in the open , the Sydney press call him a wimp. Just the thing to motivate the QLDers. There seems to be a double standard here, somewhere.

" (Maroons) " Mmmm, I think there is a typo there JayDee, Maroons should be spelt Morons biggrinbiggrin

Nah! Really I spose I am a fence sitter cos I don't originally come from either state but spend a lot of time in both. I do love the game and there are great players in both sides.

GO THE CANEROACHES

No Gallen...no guts....go the Maroons, I'm a North Queenslander originally. and I played for 5 years up there second row., I no longer have a neck...... Mel Meninga has a heart the size of Phar Lap..and his players love him and Queensland........my favourite player/coach sayings....Big Artie Beetson..."what 'ja mean late tackle?...I got there just as soon as I could!"........another Qldr player was concussed after playing poorly, dragged from the field and told his Coach...."I'm O.K.... I just don't remember who I am....
Coach: "Tell em he's Wally Lewis and send him back on again"......
Go the Maroooooons.....
P.S. Doug..who you callin' a moron mate??......remember I'm living not far from the boat ramp at Greens!....!..I know where you hang out buddy.....Hoo Roo

If they are so good, why don't they select players that actually are from Queensland. They did once, but then Barry Gomersall was refereeing for them back then and it didn't matter what the Blues did, Barry looked after it.

The Grasshopper (RIP) was a great man.

He just gave back to the blues the sort of stuff that we had been copping for years & still are.  And the ****roaches couldn't cop it.

The thing that I like most about winning is sticking it to Gus Gould & that cheat Gallen.

Go Queenslander .........

Off now to warm up with an afternoon of watching videos of those great 8 years where the goodies win.  Might even have another look at the Super League year with Fatty & his 'nobodies' ...  won that one too.

I well remember the years, decades even, where NSW poached Queenslanders to play for Manly, St.George, et al & then picked them in NSW teams.  Guys like the great Arty (RIP) who you now want to claim in your great former NSW players.

All I can say is .... Suck it up!!

SWMBO comes downstairs to my 'den' and makes sure that all the windows and doors are closed before the game starts.

Keeps my yelling & swearing from the ears of the neighbourhood.

I record every game but delete those where NSW happens to win.

I'm in the process of copying all of my VHS SOI & International tapes to a HDD & DVDs.

 Hey Jim,

And here I was being a true Maroon Queenslander and giving you some hints on the diesel heater.

What ever the result may the best side win. All I ever ask of my footy team is 80 mins of total commitment.

Go the Mighty Maroons

Us Queenslanders are proud to have a Cane Toad as our mascot. Note the lack of presention by NSW of their mascot..."THE ****AROACH"
God bless you Barry Muir... for those who remember B.M.
Yes Cupie ......Lang park once was the home of a cane toad and a grasshopper, then along came that bloody ****aroach.
But we have beaten them black and blue, hence their colour is that sickly blue.
Ok, enough from me.
Go the M.M.

Must be an Omen...

I just poured myself a drink of wine and the colour was maroon.

So obviously the Blues won't fluke it twice in a row.

Flogged them once again!!!!!

Go Queensland!!!!

But look out Qld. in game 2 when Gallen & maybe Bird are back.  NSW lost tonight IMHO because of a lack of mongrel in their pack.  Those two aforementioned mongrels will change that, but I don't think that Lawrie the konk is smart enough to pick Bird.  On the other hand Inglis will be due for a good one & a firm pitch will assist the Queenslanders.
