anyone at Wumura Dam at the moment

the time has come to seriously start plotting the first stage of our trip ( only 1 week to go til we leave ) and at this stage am hoping to be at Wumura Dam around Friday 29th May so was wondering if anyone from here was up there and could give me an idea of how busy it is at the moment?

Mmmm, thought someone would have answered you by now Jackie.

Reading other sections of this great forum I do believe that "Yeoeleven", "Jules and Billeeeeeee", "Lockie with "Me" chained to him, no, not me, "Me" and I think a couple of others are at Waruma as we speak.

There is poor Internet and phone cover there so maybe they are waiting for some reception to arrive.

John, yeoeleven, has not long ago put up a link to his blog, in Solos. Sounds like there are a few there.

Hi - yes we are here - along with Rover, Yeoeleven and some others who are not GN's - we are on flat area, behind the toilet block, near the fishing shed. Not a lot of room up here though, not enough for a caravan at the moment. As for busy, people are coming and going all the time, some who have been down near the waterfront for quite a while are packing up, as it is getting colder at night now. Their spots are quickly filled though, it is a big area, spread out, with some "difficult" roads, some newcomers park up near the loos, and go for a walk, find a spot, one stays there, the other goes and drives down - makes sense.

Some are parking on the other side of the road, but it doesn't get the morning sun, and we call that the cold side of the mountain.

Say g'day when you get here, can't miss us!

Hi,
I'm also heading off next week (from Brisbane) for my annual northern migration and thinking of calling into Wumura Dam unfortunately only for a day or so, looking forward to meeting up with the Grey Nomads and putting faces to the names.

thanks for that info....with luck we will be there on Friday and as we are only travelling from Ban Ban Springs we will arrive sometime in the morning. Only planning a night or 2 there so don't really need a choice spot and if nothing is available I have looked up a free camp spot further up the road
