Continuing the Journey

We left Rockhampton and continued on to Emerald where we met a lovely

solo traveller Happy Wanderer then we travelled on to Barcaldine and continued

along a road kill littered highway,we had to duck and dive to miss them all.

Droppedin at McKinlay to see the Walkabout Pub. Thunder and lightning and a downpour.

The rain lasted all of 15 Minutes. Finally reached our destination( 4days travelling)at Mt.Isa.

This is an interesting place ( staying at the Top Tourist Park. quite nice.) Isa is spread out

and surrounded by hills, desolate country side and very dry. We have spent a little timedoing some touristy things.

School Of The Air, Underground Hospital,The lookout, out to lake Moondarra. Will will be leaving Friday to further our trip.

This country of ours is truly an amazing place, one doesn't want to stop the journey.  Sorry no photo's SWMBO has them on her

Ipad and we haven't worked out how to get them on here.  I am not all that eloquent, so if this is a little ho hum I apologise.

Thanks Doug,

I posted that late last night, 'cos I missed out on Winton, a good friend of mine built a number

of the displays there and also in Longreach.  The bore water in Winton was a bit on the nose though.

Also I couldn't count the days (It's lucky my watch has the day on it, otherwise I'd never know what day it was.)

It was more than 4 though to get to Mt.Isa. It will be 32 degrees here today. Should be a great day.
