Have been using travelPod now for 3 years .. The paid version ... Without any problems. I also have the iPad app so I can enter data and photos offline and then sync it When online and data permits. I changed from a closed Facebook Group due to concerns about security. For a small annual cost I am very happy with what I have. I know there are lots of blog sites out there, so I guess it depends on your personal preferences .... Everyone will promote what they have and know over what they don't have and don't know. Try a couple of different sites and then decide ... You can also just input your blog on a simple word doc and copy and paste online so you don't have to re input data on various sites .... I know many people that just do their blogs by email, but size of email attachments can make that difficult if you have lots of pics. .... Good luck

The link above is my blog. I only started it in March 2015. It is a work in progress. I have also been backdating older trips to help to learn how to use Wordpress and to document them before I forget where I went. I started small and am trying to have a small website incorporated as well. Youtube has heaps of videos that are very helpful.
Go for a "responsive" layout as it will look good on a smartphone, a tablet, a laptop and even a desktop as they alter for different type screens

The above "twenty Eleven" template is a good example.
I have published my blog for the past three years using Google's blogspot.com which is free, easy to set up initially and to customize as you become more familiar with it.

I just checked out your blog Steve. I would check that you have upgraded from Classic maps in Google or you may lose them from June 2015. (not sure why)
