We're currently camped at Akoonah camp ground in SE Melbourne (great place too). Two days ago a retied couple turned up in a little Hiace type camper van and have been staying here.
What I admire is the fact that they are permanent Nomads and have lived and traveled together in this van for over a year.
She did tell my wife shes getting a bit brassed off (or words to the effect) with having to stand outside as hubbie gets ready for bed, especially when its raining.
They are thinking of getting a bigger van.
Wow - for me, that would be too much of a strain on living on the road and I reckon I'd have 100s of puncture holes in various parts of me from the BOSS by now.
For those of you long term living in such a small van as a couple, I'd be keen to hear how you cope and your "de-stressing" techniques to avoid puncture wounds etc

We had such a vehicle. Our longest trip with us living permanently in it was 13weeks. We owned it for about 3 years and saw a lot of Eastern and southern Oz.
How did we cope with each other? After working together in the same office for 34 years, it was no trouble at all
Our current van is not much bigger, and we are planning to go around the block in it next year. Yes there will need to be some compromise!

Lambie and I lived in a tent for 12 weeks x 3 in 2010, 2012, 2014, in Exmouth WA cause we took the boat over on each occasion from Sydney. Had to go fishing you see.

NOW SHE SEEKS REVENGE. Sell the camper and tent. And buy her, Her Van. Arrives in December. We STILL IN LOVE YOU SEE. Happy wife happy life. AND just to earn some extra Brownie Points for myself, We retire Next year.

Marj - their van wouldn't be any bigger than youre other than a bit higher - but Im 6'2" and would take off the top of my head if I tried to stand up in it....
I admire that they have managed for over a year in it and still together.
If it were us, I'd be curled up at the base of a gum tree (tough if youre in Melbourne like us at the moment, weather wise) with a blanket and pillow thrown in my direction lol
