ST LAWRENCE (SORT OF)

Decided to prop at "Waverly Creek Rest Area" for a night.  Bruce Hwy about 11km south of the St Lawrence turn off and about 160km north of Rockhampton QLD.

I was aiming at St L but saw this and made an executive decision cos I can smile  Nice spot too, on the Hwy so a bit of traffic but that doesn't bother me.

Nice clean toots but no showers. Plenty of water but not for drinking.

Correct JC. Good to have you own facilities on board, things can change as you go. The freedom of being on the road and I spose Solo cos if I make the wrong choice, I give muself the kick up the bum and that's not possible so I get away with it biggrin

Not sure why you say "Bad" It was a great night actually, met some nice people,  never heard a truck come in all night as they are over the other side as you said. In fact I never heard a thing all night, slept like a baby, well big baby anyway. Great place, highly recommend it. It's great having vans etc one side of the entrance and trucks the other side.

I did see the tank but it had a sign saying "NOT FOR DRINKING". I did think strange but a sign is a sign. Maybe only temporary perhaps? I didn't need the water anyway as I carry my own drinking water but I did use the tap water to wash dinner dishes. Looking at that water I would say it would possibly be OK if boiled first. Looked pretty good water.
