Hooray - great comments from Susan Murphy - she knows why the problems exist and how to solve them !!!!

The other dickhead is what you would expect - give us more or we will disrupt YOUR (the one that dishes out so much money to these organisations) economy. Then we'll bleat more when govt income drops because of our actions and we get less.

Ive worked in the Kimberley region for years and seen the problems 1st hand - all the years of more and more hand-outs is not working

Then what is the answer to these problems, I'm sure closing remote communities down, wont solve them.
Here we are one of the richest countries in the world and we seem unable or unwilling to help those that are disadvantaged.

for people to gain help they at times must be willing to help themselves. For people who claim to be associated and close to the land they treat the areas where they live like rubbish tips

Les - too often youre spot on. Go visit most of these communities - rubbish everywhere, burnt out new 4x4's that will be paid off by the taxpayer and totally trashed govt built and supplied houses.

In the Pilbara, I employed a number of these people, and some were great people and workers, but then you went to where they lived - we've got to stop just shelling out more and more money - its not working. Paying sit down money doesnt work for anyone or supplying nurses, social workers, police etc to sustain a dozen or so people.

Hey - I've got a great idea - we could move them all to the many 'free camps' that grey nomads camp on - that would force the GN's to stay in caravan parks so it would be win-win.
