Thanks to the people who answered my last post about how many ltrs per cubic metres , I have since found out that I am carrying 2 tanks &@82 ltrs each,My question this time is that I still don't think that I am getting the full amount of water in the tanks when I fill them up ,maybe they have an air lock in them ,how do you people overcome this problem ,On a good week we maybe get 4-5 days out of them combined then they need filling up .What are your thoughts THANKYOU.!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Thanks Dev & Hako ,not big users of water ,quite the opposite, just get the feeling that the tanks are not as full as they should be be ,in a previous post someone came up with the idea of using a flow meter when filling tanks ,may go down that path.

A typical (Jayco) problem is the breather routed down under the chassis rail before reaching up to the filler box. Causes no end of problems. My fix for my own van was to install new breathers to the back of the van with no low spots where water could gather and thus form a block. How about you first disconnect the breather pipes at the tank fittings and see how you go at filling. There should be no problem then because the water will flow out of the tank top fittings when the tanks are full. And yes, you can use the van with those pipes disconnected. Sometimes you have to have to use your own logic and accept that the manufacturers don't always get it right.
Make sure your pump is turned off then if you have one - turn on the tap on the A frame to let the air out as you fill the tanks.
My Jayco had the vents and it took me a long time to realise that the water coming out of the filling hole did not mean the tank was full. I learned to push the hose in further and wait until there was a rush of air out of the breather vent before the tank would start filling properly.

I find that filling my 2x95lt tanks joined together thru 1 filler takes time, do it fast in the beginning then when water comes out the breather slow down the flow and it will completely fill

I attached length of 1/2 clear pvc tube to one side of male/male click connector - the pvc hose is pushed down the filling tube into water tanks - connect standard hose to the other side of connector and fill with water completely up to filler top without air lock and air trying to bubble past the incoming flow of water - It allows filling of tank with tap turned on to full.
I tried to attach photo with copy paste but it won't work - perhaps someone could tell me how to attached either photos or documents from file.

Well, I dunno, our van has two 58 litre tanks, interconnected, and they both have an open elbow at the top, when filling, (the van is usually level) I wait until both tanks are over flowing from those elbows, and shut off the supply, knowing both tanks are full.
They are not large openings, and don't need to be, as long as they let the air out before over flowing.
I like to keep them full for safer towing, with a low centre of gravity, they make good ballast.

Hello Possum....... 3,
Try this for attaching an image..... First write some text then hit Enter so you start a new line, Then at the start of the new line Click the Attach File(s) button. This will open up a File Upload window. Then simply navigate to the photo you want to upload and click Upload. You'll see a blue progress bar indicating the image is loading. Once it has finished loading it you will see the details of the image. My image showed the following
4 Devil.gif 237KB [Remove][Insert]
Then simple click on the [Insert] link You shoud then get an option (pop up) that says Insert 4 Devil.gif into text area? Just click OK. If you don't get this pop up then check your browser settings to allow Pop Up's. Adding images is really devilishly easy!.
