Crocheting Tartan Rugs

Would anyone have instructions/pattern for crocheting a tartan rug.  Don't want to be too specific about the clan at this stage, just like the look of them.  Saw a lady at a free camp doing one a few weeks ago, should have got the pattern then.  Saw some in a craft shop in Glen Innes (where else?) but they didn't have the patterns there.  Any help?

Hi,

Thought I had a book with the pattern in it, went to my knitting/crocheting bin - no!! So I checked on Google and if you put in crocheted tartan rugs, there appears to be lots of info and free patterns.

Hope this helps.

THanks Pejay, I had already done the google thing, and most were American patterns, and I didn't recognise the yarn (8 ply? 5 ply? or what ever) or a lot of the terminology.  I did, however, find an Australian pattern using Patons (there is a name I recognise) 8 ply, and stitches I know.

Would still like other patterns if anyone has any.

Thanks for that Rosie, Looks good. I did manage to find an old Women's Weekly pattern, which I have started.  Fairly easy.  Will post some pics when it gets big enough!

After trying Glen Innes and Inverell, finally managed to buy a little book with about 15 patterns in Maclean.
