A great little park, in a neat town in the WA wheat belt, where we've just spent the last two nights.
Kym, the caretaker, is very helpful and full of local information; a powered site costs only $15/night. The amenities are very clean and well-kept, each site has a cement slab, the washing machine is also clean and costs only two dollars. The town itself is attractive - the buildings mostly have facades that reflect the early 20th century, when the town was built - and has a good museum. The Shire offices are behind the original facades in the photo below.
And then there's the Westonia Gallery, with its collection of very taseteful art and craft items. Best of all for us, Dennis and Pauline now serve coffee as well. Dennis is an excellent barista - we had the best coffee since we'd left Strathalbyn in SA - and they have an interesting range of cakes, including some that are gluten-free.
Westonia is well worth a visit; it's just a few kilometres north from the Great Eastern Highway, west of Southern Cross and a little east of Merredin.
