I had a look at two Avan Ovation motorhomes today, here in Rockhampton. They had an Ovation M3 and an Ovation M7 available for viewing. The M3 is smaller than what I am looking for, but the M7 was about right - size-wise. The one I looked at had a slide-out for the queen bed.
I would very much appreciate any insight or experiences that folks on this forum can share about Avan motorhomes in general, and the Ovation M7 in particular.
If I choose a motorhome rather than a caravan or a 5th-wheeler, I will want to flat tow a small car behind it. So any experiences in this area would be especially valuable.
Hi. We have a winnebago Esperance. We tow a car trailer and put a jimny on it. No worries at all. If you fit a toolbox on the trailer you save a lot of weight in the motorhome.
Be careful though. It might take you gvm over the limit, in which case You would have to have the motorhome rerated to 5200kgs. We just finished doing that after we found out we were overweight.

I'm a Motorhomer who Flat Tows a Suzuki behind mine. For me it's a no brainer. You have a smaller vehicle to drive around in when you arrive and the modern tow systems are great. I have one from Yeppoon which in retrospect I would not buy again. I would go for one of the systems that have extendable arms that self lock. Much easier to connect up. My system means you have to line up exactly to connect. The ones with extending arms mean you can come in off line and still able to connect. Personal feeling only. The Suzuki tows well and I have to keep checking the rear camera to make sure it is still there they tow easily.
I see on another post that Billeeee who is mentioned uses a small single axle trailer that tows a small car behind. Just another way to have a small car with you.
I am sure they will give you another view if asked, on towing a small car. The more information you have the better to make a decision that suits you.

I looked at the Avan M7 and wasn't happy with the lack of outside storage bins.I think there is only 1 bin on passenger / awning side which most others do better. The small door at the rear is the toilet cassette This jayco in pic has 3
I flat tow a Suzuki Alto (very lite) with a Ready Brute system.This has the adjustable tow arms as mentioned by others and would not buy the cheaper system, I have seen the problems people have hooking up sometimes. But of course it is a question of how much you want to spend

I think it is the gcm not the gvm you are refering to
gvm refers to the gross vehicle mass (towing vehicle weights)
gcm refers to the gross combined mass towing vehicle plus trailer an load
the fait ducato is rated to tow 2500 kgs (braked)
