Stop the water spluttering and spurting by priming the hose before you connect it to the van

Either do that or connect the hose, turn the park tap on and then bleed the vans system by turning on the external tap until the air is out of the system.

I connect the hose, open the relief valve on the hot water system until the water flows, then close it. . (always drain the HWS after each trip)
