I did a search on awnings but didn't really get the answer I am looking for.
All I want is some opinions on the best quality awning. The one on the van stretched so much in the recent storm it is no longer serviceable. Only had it replaced a little over 12 months ago.
I wonder if a stretched awning is covered by insurance
a lot of the awning manufacturers use the same brand of material so not a lot of difference in quality
if it is stretched you may be able to get the caravan side trimmed and refitted
from memory a lot of manufacturers give over 12 months wty on their material while the company that make the awning cover
give 12 month on workmanship
even if you had it made in ,for example, Perth there may be an agent for the material manufacturer / importer in ,for example,Brisbane

Damage caused in the circumstances will be covered by your insurance policy provided there is no exclusion relating to storm damage to awnings. Have a look in the "Exclusions" section of your policy.
We bought battens for our awning very easy to fit and saves this sort of hassle. Cost about $70 each, a bit expensive but when it pours rain you appreciate every dollar spent.
