Holden COLORADO recall

I don't know if anyone else posted this but thought it might be good as I have seen a few on here who own COLORADO's

Vehicles made between 2013 & 2015 are at a risk of fire. I guess Holden will have ( or be in the process of )sent letters to owners but as some are on the road they may not get the letter until its to late.

I would like to think Holden will contact all us Collie owners that are effected.

I have found a Holden Dealer here in Port Macquarie so will go have a chat in the morning and take from there. Might need to book into Tweed Heads as I hopefully will be in Byron Bay Tuesday arvo. I will also look and see if any cables are touching metal.

Dougwe the article said they are contacting owners but my thought is that not all people think to notify their vehicle manufacturers every time they change address and some nomads out there may still have mail going to home addresses even though they are not there and could take a while for mail to be forwarded. I sincerely hope that all the g/n's on here that own these vehicles are not affected but forewarned is forearmed as the saying goes.

I think this has to be taken in perspective. If one fault is noticed on a single car then all of that model is recalled just to check if anyone else has the same problem. It does not necessarily mean that the whole range has the problem and are all some kind of time bomb.

I took ours in today and all fixed in 2 mins.
All they did was check to see where alternator wire is located and mine was ok.
A few of them had the wire too close to a metal bracket and in extreme cases could have worn through.

Cheers

Thanks Sol, Strop rang our dealer  and staff were in process of reading their mail and did not have an answer so Strop will ring back tomorrow to see if they know what to do.

I called into the local dealer here in Port Macquarie NSW mid north coast this morning and they too didn't know much about it but after checking their emails also found out about it. They need to move a cable away from metal bracket and all will be good. About a 30 minute job including removing battery and replace. Unfortunately couldn't fit me in for a few days so I will be in Byron Bay NSW north coast tomorrow and will get the job done at Ballina, just south of Byron while there.

Looks to me like the dealers should join this site and they would find out a lot sooner than they are getting told
sorry but had to throw that in

Hmm ...... yep we too saw this in the Gold Coast Bulletin this afternoon, and are at a loss as we had our Collie serviced in Canberra last Tuesday and nothing was said to us! Might call into the Holden dealer here on Gold Coast tomorrow, if not back at home next week. We have just done a 7,500-8,000 Km trip and the only 'hick-up' was a warning light for contaminated fuel/water in fuel which we had looked at in Canberra. Leaving on another 7 week trip in a few weeks time, hope all will be well.

Yea but Ford are still using carrier pigeons or should that be courier pigeons, your recalls are probably still on the wing Phil.

Oh Landy, Landy Landy. How wrong could you be??

I'm glad we can joke and crap around, frankly I don't give a hoot what brand a car is, the ranger suited us down to the ground in every aspect. Yes, we tried the collwobbles and the oh what a feeling etc but the Ford came up trumps.

It's all about choice and personal preference.

PS I love my fords, hold ons suck. Lol

Called into Holden dealer at Tweed Heads today, told us they don't know anything about it other than what was in the Gold Coast Bulletin, and besides the replacement parts have not even been manufactured yet, so don't worry about it yet! Oh great!!
