We are looking at the Remote control Caravan Movers that are available and are wondering what others can advise before we purchase.
Getting our van into the storage shed is a bit of an experience but do get there eventually. Lucky my navigator/hand waver is a patient woman and we do get it in the shed. lol
Any advise or opinions are very welcome.
new ones are expensive but there is a couple on eBay in as new condition that we are looking at.

You would need level ground.we have seen people put a tow hitch on the front of car and push the van in were they have a tight area.this works well and would cost a lot less.hope this helps.

I got a hand steered powered jockey wheel for our van, up to 2T capacity for $300 in WA (Malaga). I think the compaby name was Star products from memory. Usual disclaimer - satisfied customer only :)
I have installed an Ego unit from purple line, this is a permanent fixture on the van but can handle a 1in 4 incline also grass or gravel, very satisfied with this unit can now handle van by myself, whereas before it was a battle for 2 able bodied people to get the van into and out of carport.
I no longer have to back van down long narrow driveway, just drive straight in, disconnect van, back it up and bring it in alongside car , back car out, spin van around and back it into the carport, easy as.
Have just recently installed drive motor to engaged and disengage drive unit remotely.
Wish I had installed this unit years ago.
Cheers

It depends on the van - single or tandem axle. Trouble with tandem axles is the amount of pressure you are exerting onto the springs etc as you try to turn the van - the movers which are fitted to each of the 4 wheels struggle to turn the vans. My limited experience with tandems was you have go back and forth a lot or have a large area to turn the van.
I have a single axle van and use an Aussie Mover. Great unit as it can turn the van in its own length,

A diesel Nissan Pathfinder towing a Coromal Element 542.
Im in a CP with a 22ft Stirling beside me. He has movers on all 4 wheels which cost him installed round $4K.
He backed the van towards the concrete pad, put a dual wheel jockey wheel on, dropped the movers down onto the tyres and just backed it straight in. A few times he turned it at very sharp angles to get it right beside the pad. He loves it. Has a long narrow and twisting driveway that through getting older he had to get a neighbor to back the van into the garage at his home. With these he reckons it takes him about 10 mins.
Hes had 'vans for about 18 years now and wishes he'd had them on all of them.
Brilliant - would buy them for mine - just cant afford it right now :(((

The amazing things you see when nomading Australia
I have used an Aussie mover made in W.A it easily moves my 21 foot van and operates off the van battery, I purchased it through eBay for $600 five years ago and have found it an excellent unit.
