Soul Singer Percy Sledge has died of liver cancer at the age of 73. Born 1941 in Alabama when racial segregation prevailed in the south. He started his working life in the cotton fields and was discovered whilst working as an orderly in a hospital. His song "When a Man Loves a Woman" is listed at No 53 by the Rolling Stone Magazine out of the top 500 greatest songs of all time.
