This is to be overflow facilities only for which one would pay equivalent price to the caravan park. Denmark shire do not have any free camp areas that we know of except for one each side on the main h'way which the shire don't control. So rather than on the right track it will be more of the same.

Do you have a link to the fees that will be applied to this mooted overflow camp? If so I would be interested in where the info came from.
I don't know of any free camps around Denmark, however the excellent low cost camp at Parry Beach that comes under the Denmark Shire (possibly under DEC now, not sure) is not to be sneezed at.
Cant find info on proposed fees but CP fees are $33-$50 for two people so would assume similar fees. Parry's beach is not suitable for caravans due to height restriction.
Some caravans at Parry Beach are ok, my cousin and his mate have just returned from there, both had pop top caravans, This link provides information on the height restrictions for caravans and RV's.
I think we need to wait to see what the shire is going to charge for the overflow caravan park in Denmark if nothing has come out on what the fees will be though.
Although in the Albany Shire, there is also a free camping site at Cosy Corner on the coast off Old Denmark Road east of Denmark between Denmark and Albany (See camps book). Higher rigs can park in the upper camping area.
