G'day mate

It's been 10 yrs since we were there - so I've got nothing current
Only suggestison is the "usual ones" that I'm sure you know all about

We're going to do 6-months in WA this year too ... it will be interesting for us to compare notes from 10 yrs ago

Phil

Lets hope its dry by then. We crossed last august Sept and it was getting bloody hot. Victoria River road house and Timber Creek are good spots for a look about. The park behind the pub at Timber Creek seems better but fuel at the other is a lot cheaper. There is a good free camp just outside Timber creek. Marys Pools is a great free camp.

Hi Jeff. There are so many things to do in the Kimberlies that it would be hard to pick the stand out ones. Certainly Mary Pools free camp, but there there by mid-day or you may not find anywhere to park (all the WA greys head to the Pilbara and Kimberlies in the winter and CPs and free camping does get crowded.

Depending on your rig, the WA National Parks have some great places (most not for on-road only vehicle though), have a look on this Forum under "free camps - wa" and of course wikicamps and the Camps 8 book. There is the storage lake up there and you can free camp and CP in various spots.

But if youre going to fish, be VERY careful. Most waterways have salties in them and they can run at a top speed of 30kmh - faster than us - and of course theyre also in the see along with the fatal jelly fish.

Theres also some good info by just googling "Kimberlies WA" and on the Tourism WA site

You will love it - sunsets like you've never seen before. Take a fly net for your faces lol
