Rear door annex

Our previous campervan was a Hiace. We were able to buy an annex from BCF that went over the rear of the van and enabled us to leave the door open in rain and gave us a bit more storage when camped. It also kept the sun off the upholstery and helped keep the van cooler in hot weather.

We now have a high roof Transit and wonder whether anyone has found a similar product for this type of vehicle. It seems that such a product would also fit high roof models of Mercedes, Fiat, VW and some others, and accordingly the market would be large enough to justify someone producing one.

The product we want would be lightweight , compact when travelling, and quick to install and remove. I have found what look like items designed to withstand overnight snow storms in Germany and Britain, but would prefer to get something in Australia.

So far my searches of this and other forums have been in vain so any leads would be welcome.

We had a Hi-Ace van and looked for an annexe for the rear as well. Saw one at a camping show but can't remember the brand. We now have a 12' Jayco Starcraft with a rear door so we added a sail track and got a local motor trimmer to make us a light canvas awning. This is great and protects the rear area from rain etc. and gives us some more privacy as well.
You might have to do something similar for your van.

Happy looking and camping.

Our problem is that the top of the doors is flush with the roof, so unless we can arch the awning roof the doors will snag it when opened.
I am now talking to some people who might make one up for us.
Thanks for your help.
