Might help if you specify which State, because they are all different. Whilst not a Coaster, mine is a Ford Transit MH with a 302 V8 Auto conversion, it costs about $650 a year in Queensland.  I'm insured with MHIA (Motor Home Insurance Agency) and that's $550 a year.

As a pensioner with an address in Victoria my Coaster with a motor home compliance plate costs me $189 per 6 months.          John

Coaster motorhome rego in the NT $640.00 per year, insurance $42.00 per month, was cheaper rego when on WA plates (less than $500.00) & no annual roadworthy required.

EDIT: This was for a LWB 6 cylinder 4.2ltr & our SWB 4 cylinder 3.4ltr only a couple of dollars difference.

If in WA if you need to make sure it's licenced as a Mobile Caravan (I'm not sure if that description is correct) but there are problems if you register it as a bus or van. The licence is a lot cheaper as a ?? caravan than if a van or bus, also as a bus it needs to be over the pits at scheduled intervals.
We had a LWB coaster and had a problem explaining to the licencing dept that we were entitled to a pensioners discount. At first they said No it's over the weight classification, for the discount it has to be under 4.5 T. When I pointed out it was a ?? caravan and they looked at that classification they found it was entitled. Also you need a bit more description Coasters come in different weights and motor sizes, this will obviously effect the answer. It's several years ago that we had the coaster I can't remember what the licence cost was.
