Free camp at Louth is a good one. On the river bank opposite side of the river to the pub. There's a bridge across the river in town.

Good meals at the pub ( Shindy's Inn ) too.

Depends on where you start. It starting from Wentworth then you travel bitumen to Pooncarie then dirt to Menindee. Dirt to Wilcannia and through to Bourke. Whilst there is good camping along the river you won't see much of it as it runs behind private property. Can't comment on the current condition of the road

Hi, We did the Darling Run last August.Left Bourke after a few days at May's Bend and went to Louth. Road half way was ok but was ordinary for the rest, but with dirt roads you drive to the conditions. Had 2 nights on the river at Louth which was good. Good pub and just a walk over the bridge to toilets and showers. Races were on the following week end so the road was being graded while we were there. Then had a few days at Idalia Station run by Jane and Tim Murray. On the bank of the Darling with grassy sites and a fire place. Only a small camp site for about 8 to 10 vans, but very good and wonderful people. Tim's brother and his wife run Trilby Station. Nice camp spot at Tilpa near the pub. Wilcannia had a bad reputation but we were not a bit worried with it and had a good time there with the lovely old stone buildings. It is different to the Murray and the Murrumbidgee as you are not as close to the river but we still loved it. Hope this helps and glad to answer any other queries if I can. Chippy.
