Not remembered when I log on. Is this a form of punishment for making a spelling mistake?
I.ve been able to look at the site for a couple of weeks with out having to log on, now not only do I have to log on each time despite ticking the "Remember me" box, but the mark as read items come up un marked as well?
Don't klnow why that happens Ian. Happened to me a long while ago, [ I hadn't changed any settings or anything, so I still don't know why.] and only a couple of weeks ago, it went back to normal, and I don't have to log on every time again.
Ian, sounds like your machine could do with a bit of a clean up. Download and install CCleaner (you only need the free version.) When you run it it will open the 'Cleaner' option open. Click the 'Analyze' button at the bottom and see what it is going to clean up. You will see what will be deleted when you clock on "Run Cleaner." The idea of running the cleaner is to get rid of the cookies and other things in your browser. Running the cleaner will get rid of a lot of other rubbish in the computer, if there are some things like "Empty Recycle Bin" that you don't wish to happen, untick the appropriate box(es) in the LHS before you click on "Run Cleaner."
This will restore your browser back to a virgin condition. You will have to log back into all the sites you normally automatically log into but you will clean up the system and you should have none of your present recurring problems.
When you have fixed your browser products it is good to then get rid of the rubbish in your Registry. Click on the registry tab on the LHS and click on the "Analyse" button. You will be amazed how many useless entries there in your Registry. The Windows operating system does not remove registry entries when you delete programmes or the entries used during a new install. I don't know what the count is in the later versions are but when you installed XP there was in excess of 120 dud entries after you had finished installing and configuring the operating system. When you click on "Fix selected issues.." you will get rid of the rubbish. Each time you open something the system has to search through these bum entries to find the one it wants. Cleaning the registry assists with keeping the system running as it should.

I have found that if you double push the screen button (not on off switch) on your iPhone or Pad a row of Apps appears down the bottom, push the first one on the left and they all light up, delete each one until all gone. THEN go into "settings"...."Safari" and clear history and cookies.
At the end of all this hold the screen button and on off switch at the same time until the big apple appears, it seems to re-boot the system.
I have found by doing all that it seems to help with performance.

Hmm thought it maybe at my end. I run Norton Utlities, along with the Norton Virus checker. Yes something to do with the downloading of biscuits . I will give the system a good clean and start again. Thanks for the info folks.
I run Norton Utlities, along with the Norton Virus checker.
Norton does not run the best security suite these days, it's well in the comparisons when you see the comparisons that are done each year. In the computer club I belong to when someone is having trouble with their computer the first thing we tell them is to disable Nortons or Macafee and then try again. Many times they come back to the next meeting and advise their problems are solved.
I still recommend you download CCleaner, install and run it after you have done your clean out with Nortons and see how much extra it gets rid of.
