Yes I have done the search but not that helpful. Our aeiral doesn't even work right on our front lawn so haven't got much hope out back. Anyway looking at the I-tech world 85cm dish, hole kit around $600. Plug n play so to speak . Who has one and what is u'r thoughts. The last thing we need sorted before the 12th April. Just had the sun-buster shades fitted.
I have purchased a satking full setup including an Altech 12v TV with inbuilt vast receiver for $900 from mad electronics in Warilla (Wollongong) had a wiz bang satellite finder so very easy to set up, on the road but have not had to use it yet.
set it up at home only problem was with vast registration had to ring them to reboot so I could get commercial stations.
guy at Mad set up dish in car park so I could see how to use it, time will tell how good it is
we purchased the SCATKING set up minus TV & plug thing that goes on the van to plug lead into but with upgraded satellite finder and upgraded dish from somewhere on the Sunshine Coast. ( hey I was sitting in the backseat chatting so not taking a lot of notice where we were going ). Excellent service and salesman also set it up in the carpark to show us how easy it was to set up. should have cost $630 but I asked about pensioner discount and it cost us $575. We have used it twice with no probs

To be contrary , we purchased from Iteckworld and found it to be brilliant ,had a little problem setting it up but that was just me . Used it all the time at greens for 6 weeks or so .
I can recommend Access Antennas in Osborne Park WA.
One of the most frustrating things when you are new to it, is setting up the Dish and finding the Satellite. The little sat finder meter that comes with the set up, used to frustrate the hell out of me.
I met a bloke at Eucla who had a Satlink WS 6906 satellite finder. Never looked back since. Had a hiccup once when Optus changed the channel. But enquiring on this forum had me back on the correct channel and no probs since.
There are various types of Sat finders that are far superior to the Needle and Buzzer things that come with the kit. Mine cost me about $100 + I think and is well worth it.
This is the one I find to be very Hit and Miss
Also I have Wiki Camps on the Tablet. That also has the Satellite Position/Locator function which is great. You can even check visually on the screen to see if a mountain, trees, or building, is in the way, masking the satellite.

From reports by many others I would advise you keep well clear of Itechworld.
The reputable companies as reported by members here are Satplus, Satgear, Accessantennas(WA)
All these companies supply good quality equipment and fittings and will provide after sales assistance with your setup.
check them out before you do anything else.

I also have heard bad reports about Itech, in their defence a few people have said they don't have problems with them, more bad than good tho. Go for the bigger dish. We got ours in Broome and could not be happier. Make sure you register as a traveller with VAST. Then you can go online to change states as you travel
ITech. Only dealt with them once about 7 years ago. They are located not far from me in Perth. Was not happy with the sales staff lack of knowledge, but full of sales pitch. Then when problems arose (it was a TV aerial) poor after sales service and no interest.
I think that seemed to be the thread or common complaint about lack of help after buying the gear from them.
I used Access in Osborne Park after all the bad press on this Forum about ITech (and there was a lot of it in a post a few months ago). Apparently there gear is inferior to other suppliers and no cheaper.
Ive used it once since in 8 mnths lol.....mainly because its such a pain in the bottom to find the satellite as Mike has outlined above. Mike also put me on to the SATLINK WS6906. Bought it about 3 weeks ago on-line for $108 delivered. Yet to use it.....but looking forward to finding the Optue spy in the sky easier than the compass and little squealing meter box that is supplied as standard.
Don't buy the WS6906 or its equal from a face to face supplier. A 2nd hand similar unit from Access was almost $300

Find someone else with satellite and get their help to set up initially
It is not that hard once you are shown
It must be set up and locked on the satellite before the system can be activated
Satking Motorised Satelite TV system. Will not be every one's cup of tea and cost may be prohibitive but the provider SatPlus Maroochydore has a range of Satelite products and service was first class.
Got this one from Satplus 2 weeks ago, we use Fox and all up with the upgraded Sat finder cost us 395, only takes, after I put the dish up, about 20 secs to find sat connect to van and that's it,so easy
Vast one is with everything ,upgraded sat finder etc about 650
Ok been to SatPlus and had a look at them, one more question, is there any benafit having one on pole on drawbar as one on the ground or is that just a personal choice.they make it a lot easier to understand knowing what they are talking about and they don't try and sell u the dearest one.

We have been using mobile satellite for around 15 years now and we have found the tripod with 3 adjustable legs to be the best for most situations.
We can position the dish where it will get max signal and have the van parked in the shade or on a level spot. I have 2 10m leads I can join if I need to get the dish into a clear area.
I found the ground mount base to be a pain if the ground was not perfectly flat. With the tripod I do not have to get down on my knees to make adjustments and for me that is a real bonus.

We did the lap with an 85cm dish on tripod we also got the sat finder that elliemike talks about and took our foxtel box and did not miss a thing but we did find a few grey nomads had spent a lot with Itechworld and not happy

I am writing to find out if anyone has the Australian file that needs to be installed onto the SatLink 6906. I am having trouble getting the people at Satlink to do anything, they a very vague at best. Meanwhile, my SatLink device does not work.

SatPlus at the sunshine coast are second to none, they provide top service and will post gear Australia wide.
I had a problem a week or two ago with my sat decoder, I phoned John, he sent me an E-mail with an attachment which I down loaded to a USB stick. I plugged it into the decoder, followed his instructions. Problem fixed.
Has anybody tried or are using the new 'folding dish' that is now on the market, it is an expensive one (not a cheap version), I think that either Satplus or Access Antennaes are selling them?
