Hi can anybody recommend a good free camp in the Gippsland Area. I have been to Walhalla, Erica and Nojee, all of these were wonderful, but I would love to hear if anyone else has found a good spot. Thanks Lynne
Hi - I'm not in Vic, but found this on another forum..
Cowwarr Weir, North of Traralgon. on the way to Lake Glenmaggie. A beautiful spot. Lots of locals came for a swim, kayak or fish. All greywater must be taken off site as well as all rubbish. Flushing toilets available but no dump point. Only Caravans and motorhomes permitted, 48 hour stay.
Once inside gate to camping area there are no actual access roads, just have to be careful negotiating the low tree branches, space for probably about ten vans, all flat ground and well grassed. Can flood after heavy rain.
So don't know if that helps. Also Using another package - suggestions for the Gippsland area were Sennis Campground, Cheynes Bridge Camping area, Boolarra Apex Park Camping Area, White Womans Waterhole Camping Area (in Won Wran State Forest).
Ignore the above if others have had personal experience of sites in the area.

Tambo River Crossing nth of Bruthen (great Butcher) and sth of Ensay is a nice spot if you are going that way. Nice camp site just over the bridge. Cheers, Bob
