hi all

pulled the head off my 1997 camry  and this little thing fell out from some where I broke the pvc valve in half could it have  come from there

That's what it is - steel plunger from the PCV valve which you can hear when you rattle the PCV.
I guess you mean you removed the valve or rocker cover off and not the cylinder head?

yes I took the rocker off and broke the pvc valve doing so did not see any thing fall out then I took the head off found that  little part under the car

Cheap as get another one or trip to wreckers ? Even eBay ..
Try to get steel case ...
