Bike carriers

Hi all. Does anyone know of a suitable bike rack for the new Jayco Starcraft van or, does anyone know where we can get one custom made in the perth area?  None of the bike racks that we have seen online look to be suitable and we can't attach it to the car because of a reversing camera.  Help would be appreciated.

Hi Guys. Why don't you email Jayco direct (don't bother with the Dealer who sold you the van). They should be able to tell you the various brands (and probably retailers who stock them).

One good thing about Jayco - they are give a good after sales service and info - you can even phone them. They will have a 1300 phone no.

good luck guys - hope they can give you the answer. The only other suggestion I can give you is to go to a decent bike specialist and ask if they do racks for caravans and the other might be roof rack specialists - they often also do bike racks. One other idea - google "caravan bike racks" or variations on this and this what you get

I see many bikes hanging on the back of caravans and often wonder how many come off and are ridden on a regular basis. On a recent trip in FNQ I witnessed an "older" female rider take a nasty spill from a two wheel machine in the caravan park and break a hip. It was the first time she had ridden for years. I think I'll leave mine in the shed and hit that little white ball around the courses en route.Certainly less trouble and safer.

We have met a couple who had a bike rack on the back of their Van and as they were crossing the Nallarboor a car kept blowing his horn at them. They pulled over only to be told their bike rack and bikes were strewn over the road behind them, they were horrified as they had paid a good deal of money for the stand as well as the bikes. In future they intend to put the bikes in the Van at night.
