Thanks for your concern every-one. As you can see, You're not rid of me yet. We are all OK here, Joe50, Ontos45, and myself. Power just came on here tonight a couple of hours ago now. Have had none since last Friday. Therefore, no water, and no phones or internet either. Didn't have reception for Mobiles most of that time too. Sent a couple of messages from the top of the hill at the Emu Park Golf Course. Often seem to manage reception there, when you can't get out elsewhere.
As I've said elsewhere, we had minimal damage here, [if you don't count the number of trees massacred] compared to what happened to others.
Needed traffic lights here some-times, there were so many people coming to check on us all. Police, SES, Red Cross, Fieries, Excell Care, Ergon, and a couple more , but I can't remember what they were called. Sometimes they came twice a day, making sure we had Water and Food, and were generally OK.
They were from all over Qld. I think the only ones we didn't see were the Army.
Hi Gayle,
glad to hear that you got through relatively unscathed.
Good to hear that you had so many people checking to
see if you were all ok
Cheers
Kathy
I was in Burrum Heads a few years ago when there was a Tornado after Ec Tropical Cyclone. Lucky no serious injuries.
The best thing was the myriad of people who turned up to help and see if you were OK,needed anything and worked like Trojans to get everyone safe and clean up to get things back to normal. All for no reward.
Some wonderful people who every time there is a disaster move in to help in any way they can. Then quietly go back to being your neighbour friend or that person you pass in the street.
Aren't we lucky to have those wonderful people around.

One of the SES volunteers who came yesterday was a female around my age, [70's] who has already put her name down to come back for another stint. Apparently they come for a week, 2 days of which are travelling time, then get sent back to wherever they came from.
She's from Ipswich. I think her name was Margaret. Lovely lady.
Yes, we are lucky to have people like that around.
Thank you all the volunteers. We really do appreciate you.
Good to hear all is well with you Sheba.
After hearing about the way petrol prices were increased just because people desperately needed it, and generator theft, its great to hear about all the helpful people who came to check on you all.
