1/2 price to tassie.......

Hi every one;

                  The wife and my self have been looking at taking the caravan and 4x4 over to tassie and have been put off by the high cost for the return ticket, anyway we just got our royal auto magazine on tuesday and the spirit of tasmania have a 50% off price at the moment.

One catch is you have to travel between May ( i think ) and be back by September 17 ,( winter rates ??? ). The last time that we checked to take the caravan, 2 adults, 2 small dogs, and a cabin both ways was about $2300.00 which is a lot of money to shell out and then also spend money over in tassie.

So we have booked and payed for and looking forward to going back to tassie and with the spirits discount it cost just over $1300.00. That is a lot better than $2300.00.

So we are traveling with caravan and the 4x4 and have a total over all length of 12 Mtrs, 2 adults and 2 dogs and have a inside cabin both ways for the $1300.00.

So if you are thinking of going over to tassie and don't mind it's winter, well it's just something to think about.

WOW - that is sure a very good price! How long are you going over for? We had four months (over summer) and loved it!

Enjoy!

That's good news for the price drop. When do you go to Tassie valiant81? I would like to go at the end of November 2015 until February 2016. The last time I priced the trip it was going to cost $2000.......

Regards Chris

Vanman/Chris - that time of year is going to be exxy, being summer they jack the prices up.

We just checked prices, and for us to go back with us, the 2 dogs and the car to see the family in May/June is $600-$800 return, depending on whether we do recliners or cabin. Not too bad, just the cost of getting from Tin Can to Melbourne to work out........
