Yes, Lulu is gone. While I was camped up and 'homeless' at my sisters at Tin Can Bay pre Christmas and beyond, I discovered pretty quickly that the roof was leaking quite badly. Brother-in-law put a big tarp over it til I decided what to do. So a few weeks ago I took it around to the local caravan place to get a quote to fix her. Many $$$, which I didn't think was worth spending on the old girl. (1988 Viscount Nipper). Anyway he offered to buy it, so that was it. She's gone.
He does caravans & boats up, and repairs. I'll give him a plug because he's a nice bloke. If you're ever in Tin Can Bay and need something for your caravan, call at Whatever...yes that's the name of the business...at Cooloola Cove.
Of course I had to empty her out and I've brought it all back to my small studio apartment at Scarborough. Luckily my car is small and I've been able to fit some cupboards in my parking bay, so they're overflowing with camping/caravanning stuff until I get a new vehicle.
I know its hard to part with a well loved van, but another will come along. Have a good look at the hightop hiace you were telling me about. It would probably be a little more to your needs.Keep looking, you never know whats coming up. Bill
Thanks folks. Yes, as Bill said, I'll be looking out for a high roof Toyota HiAce. I'm well now, but not in any hurry to get out there just yet. I still have two more surgeries to go, so I'm just concentrating on getting fitter and enjoying life in my new surroundings.
