Flooring

Hi, have just spent 2 glorious weeks on mid north coast nsw. Van on double concrete slab.

Moved couple hours north for look & hasn't stopped raining. Sites are sand so I put down tarp...wrong move.

Can you suggest some flooring that will let water through but keep out sand ?

Lee4, look at C-gear. This is the flooring the US defense forces use on the ground prior to landing helicopters. It is a one-way mat. Sand goes down but not up.

Hi Lee, I put down a piece of old shade cloth and two rubber mats with holes in them, works pretty well. Cheers Colleen

Aldi currently have caravan matting on special for about $39 I think....looks the same as the stuff BCF sell. At our local store there were about 10 of them left.
Good Luck.

Another vote for CGear,  it's the best thing we've bought since sliced bread!

We bought ours from eBay and they are a bit expensive but well worth the expense.

Here's another link -

And another vote for the CGear mat.   They aren't cheap but ours looks basically like new after years of use.   It stays clean and the sand and rain just drop through it.    We tried shadecloth prior to getting it and found it got slippery when wet, after slipping on it and falling we got rid of it.   CGear gives a much better grip even when wet.

Aldi,s matting was $30.00 for 3 mtrs x2.5 mtrs makes the other,s bit exspensive .

CGear matting from me too. Also keeps the grass underneath better so many caravan parks appreciate it
