Apparently the Sunshine Coast is in for a dousing the next 4 days. Yesterday we were being warned that Tin Can Bay was likely to get water spouts on Friday...... So far winds to 80km and a few spits. (Midday Wednesday 18th February).

I have to learn not to leave Victoria till March. Does it every year.
I understand from Rockhampton down to Brisbane is expecting the deluge and possible cyclone.
Queensland always needed new dams for flood mitigation and storage before that home insulation that our taxes were wasted on. Not making a political statement, all of the established political parties seem to be more about about populism and the 24 hour 'news' cycle than good policy.
I have family near Bundaburg, talking to them today on the topic and they said.... "it's all good, we just finished work on the ark"

Been watching the BOM's tracking map, and all evening every update has moved the track closer to Rockhampton. According to the 11pm AEST update looks like the core will pass just west of Rocky around midday Friday. We've all battened down and waiting. There a lot of cyclone experience amongst us, but this is my first - not sure if I should be excited or worried!
