I did a search but couldn't find mention of this on the site, so I thought I'd post it anyway.
Certain brands of computers using the LS-15 power cords have been identified as having a potential fire hazard concerning the 240V power cord that plugs into the power pack. Basically, the cord will overheat and may catch fire.
We had this happen today with the wife's computer, luckily while she was at home using it when it happened. This illustrates how leaving the power pack plugged into 240V while unattended is not a good idea.
To find out if your computer has this problem, Google this and add the brand name of your computer. " ls-15 power cord recall Toshiba " then follow the link to the manufacturers website.
This is the result or the failure to a Toshiba power pack and cord.
I got an email yesterday from Toshiba to give them a call. Spoke to a very helpful fella and they are sending the replacement cord and power pack asap. They also requested i send the damaged items back via a prepaid post bag.. So, all good.
