Xmas Volunteering

Just curious if anybody already volunteers at Xmas for any Organisations & Charities. Can someone recommend any sites where you can view & apply. Is it to early to find now or should you wait until later in the year.

Thanks

Deena

Xmas day was my 6th year volunteering with St Mary's House of Welcome in Fitzroy.

We served a 2 course lunch to approximately 320 people, Father Xmas came, all kids and adults received a present, we had free pop corn and raffle prizes.

Every year we have a theme, this year was beach xmas.

It's difficult to "get in", the majority of regular volunteers are invited to join around August and September.  As usual, you'll need a police check.

I see on TV, the Collingwood football club, Les Twentyman, and many other places also do the same on Xmas day.

There are many institutions that do Xmas food hampers, and toys etc.

It's fantastic fun, better than hanging out with my family.

Cheers Lesley F.

Lesley F thanks for your feedback
Over time we all get something from the community & it would be good to give something back.
Taking out hampers & toys sounds ideal
Will have a look for some sites to apply.

Many Thanks
Ian
