Been advertised a lot on TV. Will be starting at the Movies this month. From what I can gather the guy invented the code breaking machine for German radio transmissions. Should be good.

From what I understand the storyline is about a borderline genius called Allan Turing who worked at Bletchly Park in England during the war.

They were code breakers trying to break the codes produced by the German Enigma machine amongst others.

I think the Movie "A Beautiful Mind" with Russel Crowe was about the same subject.

A beautiful mind was also a true story, he was a genius, but had severe paranoid schizophrenia.

Allan Turing definitely was an unusual bloke, a loner, he said little, but when he did, spoke his mind and very blunt.

He and his small group of staff were geniuses, brilliant mathematicians,  I don't wish to give away the plot, he had no mental illness, but there were many layers to his personality.

It's an amazing true story, I found it tense, funny and very sad.

I recommend seeing it, it's not just for blokes.  This small group of people were truly hero's.

I agree Lesley, certainly is a good movie, and even better if you know the story of Alan Turring, and how he suffered.

Brilliant acting, from a few lesser known actors.

the Man who first thought of the digital age... I don't care what other have to say, but I do feel that he built the First of the modern day computer's..

His research and Papers in most case were locked up and finally released to the general public in 2012..

getting a lot of adverse comments with people walking out on the movie. Obviously that means its a well crafted and intelligent movie with no silly American humour or mass killings or even computer generated effects !!!!!!!!!

Still don't get that the papers had to be locked up for so long.

Very interesting movie though.
