In April, we hit the road to see the country. Headed to Queensland for the winter as the in-laws head to Caloundra every year. They left to go home, and we moved north to Tin Can Bay (Kingfisher Caravan Park). For a month. 3.5 months later, still here and not planning to move in the foreseeable future.
Anyone else done similar?

Happens all the time to me Rosie. I get somewhere for one night and end up staying 3-4 weeks. That has been my limit so far, I get itchy feet then and want to see what is around the next corner. That is the great thing about this lifestyle, can do what you please for however long you please. Of course always subject to change.

Some years ago we drove into Baralaba Qld as we drove into the town the boss said we are not staying here any more than 2 days, 6 weeks later we drag ourselves away from the great towns people and fellow campers.

in April 2013 we went to Pardoo station in the Pilbara for 6 weeks - left 6.5 mths later only because it was too hot and we wanted to be in Perth with family for Xmas (it was also nearing cyclone season). Also went to work for a farmer near Albany for 6 weeks and left 4 mths later. Our motto "all plans subject to change at short notice" that's just one of the joys of living in a house with wheels

Yup! stalled big-time. Staying here on our little patch of coast, never found anywhere else we liked as much. Thought we'd continue travelling, but all plans can be changed/deferred. Its great to have the choice!
