I not going to get in an argument but I find myself android or Microsoft systems work better overall specially with cameras. i do have a I phone and when i add those photos to my system its not always good.

I can get I phone to my My windows but unable to get photos back to I phone which annoys me a bit, I try not to use I phone camera.

I find getting photos ... especially those that save as videos (what do Apple all them 'ive' or something) and actual videos ... to copy to my PC a real PITA. iTunes is a joke so I just try to copy them manually one at a time. Copying whole folders doesn't work too well. Much easier from my camera.

ps. What did I do today ... Monday is house cleaning day for me while SWMBO does the ironing.

After that I sat down to watch a bit of cricket but the rain intervened so I read a book. The latest by Peter Cosgrove.

Sorry, I did not grow up in your world, mine only has 24 hour days.

It probably took 6 weeks of mucking about to do the slides back in April, June packed that away 1965 to 1982 away, approx 40 boxes of 38 slide boxes plus 600 slides of a working holiday overseas. Really got stuck in to it.

900 files x 3 photos, I started scanning back mid December and still got some to go. Some days about 10 hours, short ones, longer ones and it stops me from drinking which is good.

Its interesting I was talking with my wiz bang son overseas tonight and I was saying that I am just a little disappointed with some of the reproduction, guess what I should of thrown the 2005 model scanner in the bin and brought a new one as they have much higher dots per inch, bugger.

And there is more, I did get rid of a lot.

My old 2005 Canon scanner only works with my 2003 Xp system unfortunately.

I then transfer them by usb to my lastest 2000 windows 10 laptop to name and date.

2000 and counting photos I am going to keep, no ifs or butts, there staying.

I probably still have a 1000 photos in albums, our wedding, 3 big trip ones etc.

I might just out and buy a new scanner.

My laptop doing a back up at the moment, I will stick up a couple of family snaps which look ok at post card size but when stretched to my 15 inch laptop they look a bit ordinary.

All fun.

Well ,here in little ole NZ the sun`s shining and that means keeping up with the gardening ,wifey still works full time and so on me own, free to bugger up whatever i care too !!
Spent an hour on the bloody phone with my cell provider about lack of reception in our house ,same ole crap answer ,maybe a tree has grown in the way sir (politely told them to find it and chop the bugger down then as the repeater tower`s only 1.5 km away .Currently have to put the phone in a car cradle suckered at the very top of a window,and put the phone on speaker . Picked last of beans ,now going to seed ,and finally heard from our local Jayco dealer that our next new c/vn will now likely b May before delivery .
Now the important bit , i was fully alive and kicking to all the above . biggrin

Back to my scanning, today I been playing around the scanner program settings before I go out and buy a new updated scanner. Our 2005 Canon flatbed scanner allows me to do multicrop 3 photos at a time but I now realize it is doing that at 300 dpi hence not good enlargements. So yesterday I played around a bit, the highest my old system allows me to single scan a photo is 1200 dpi. At that setting takes about 1hour to do 40 or so scans but they are better which maybe worth the extra time and effect to do. the photos have gone from kilobytes to megabytes, 2.1 MBs is common.

So my plan now now is go though my family photos and redo any I think is special.

I think I will of earnt a glass of white tonight, my poor truckdrivers brain is struggling.

Radar, only a Canon Printer Scanner TS6160, about 18 months old and sounds like similar speed to yours, 1200 dpi can be counter productive I reckon, but only you can decide each time. No good for slides or negatives either. I have half looked at the Epson range but I reckon a minimum of V700 at $950 is a big chew . Have lots of 1920 and 30's b & w negatives from my Dad.

Interesting day,, so New Zealand know better in areas with mobil reception, we live near one of those very private schools that has turned out judges, barristers, parliamentary people and a lot of very influential parents, the reception here is very questionable and it will not matter which provider you have.

Our tomatoes have been hit by bugs, pulled them out, it is not a good time to grow veggies here in Brisbane but the grass grows well.

Make the most of your free time because once your lady retires it a different ball game. Enjoy.

Brighton Jetty Classic Sculptures on this week. Nice weather today so went down for a look see. Some great sculptures, and I appreciate there is a lot of work gone into a lot of them, but some are just hellishly overpriced, into the thousands of dollars. But it was a nice day.

Finished installing 2 x 2000 litre Underfloor tanks, for the gardens. Have 30k for the house.

Took a drive to the Sunshine Coast to visit friends, enjoy the visit then decided we would book into accommodation near the ocean, just so I could hear and smell the ocean.

Had a Chinese dinner at the local bowling club which was delicious.

We were looking for an opportunity to visit one of our favourite CPs - Noosa River CP - so I made a call on spec & asked for a site for a min of 1 week & max two weeks during Feb. Imagine my surprise when the Lass replied ' Have just had a cancellation for in 3rd & out 12th Feb"! Even better, the site is one of our preferred ones, with water views and to top it off a good mate has just set up for 3 weeks on a site 3 away from ours. All we need now is for the weather to play the game.

So a rush now to list all that needs to be done (only 2 pages so far) to get the van out from under cover , off blocks & ready to leave next Wednesday, and then get it all done. This includes re equipping the van from a western Qld touring set up to one suitable for a seaside holiday including recovering my fishing kayak from my grandson who lives bayside.

So it's not what did I do today but what am I going to do for the next few days.

my day started with breakie talking about possibles when I get told we have a window of 10 days we could take the caravan away. So that to me is pretty exciting. Where to Cotton trees maybe or Stuarts Point sounds good..

When down to the lake to sail my model boat, best Saturday for a very long time, a beautiful breeze sharing it with 9 other saiboats and 6 motorised boats.

Today a quick run around the supermarket to get a few things.

Hi to all ,day started well ,i woke up ! ,thats` allways pleasing on a sunny morning here in gods own NZ .Got an e-mail from the lawnmower muffler supplier that part ordered is `on its way`and should arrive today . .An achievement in itself considering i bought the mower in 1997 . All went well with fitting until the very thin gasket fell into . 3 pieces . luckily local hardware shop had a tube of instant gasket, so job no.1 all completed satisfactory.
2. Gave the caravan a de-cobweb and a wash down inc solar panels on roof .,checked tyre pressures etc ,etc . 3. Toms .in tunnelhouse going gangbusters so picked and froze loads more ready for the winter stews .
4. Annoyed the **** out of next doors cat for a while by dangling and pulling a bit of string over the fence .
5 .Well earned rest with a beer ,waiting for the missus to come home, reflecting on another beaut day .

Well ,oh joy ,blood test day today ,and despite our local med centre being only 5 mins up the road ,i`ve had much pain and slight nerve damage from them in the past so a trip to a more skilled operative was required .
Left home at 7.30 am, arrived /signed in on the Covid sheet at 8.45am at the main blood /lab services reception . .Waiting at 9.15! waiting at 9.30 !! Waiting at 9.45 am !!!(Bloomin Ellen d`generes on the tele doin my head in ) Seen at 9.55 am .Out at 10.05am. Home by 11.15am . But NO PAIN .
Why oh why do waiting rooms show all this mind numbing rubbish on the teles`s .Oh yeh, also shown was a short few minutes clip on Vaginal health .Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh .!!

Whenever I go to a medical appointment I always take a good book The hours just fly by.

For a diversion I play with the internet browser on my iPhone.

What did I do today .. Well the plan is ...

Breakfast over by about 10am

Being Monday & at home .. clean the house while SWMBO does the ironing.

Then, begin the job of replacing the railings & bottom rail on the back deck. H3 timber rotted out after 22 years.

When the sun goes down, mow the grass. Needs doing every week in this weather.

Relax with a nice red at about 5.30 followed no doubt by a short snooze after dinner. To bed by midnight

I cut the front hedge at home the other day . Stood on a sharp cutting . Didnt think much about it . Now it seems to be sore . So Ive bandaged it with some iodine type ointment . Possibly go check the water injection on Motorhome ? Re wire so I can manually turn it on . Now I have sorted the fault code issues !! 6.5 GM Detroit .
