Took dear old mother in law up to our big smoke for a medical checkup, she recently had a pacemaker fitted, and everything is fine

Tomorrow, all things being equal, the boss and I shall be heading north to find a bit of warmth, so may not be on the forum as much as I usually am, for a few months

Enjoy your time away in the warmer climate.

We are hoping Perth will be warm in early August for our 1 week stop over on the way home to Brisbane.

Today swept the 40 mtre drive way, wash 2 cars and had a nana nap.

Now going to get cleaned up ready for Pedro's Pizza night, he is going on holidays and its his way of saying thank you to his regular customers by having a freeby night behind closed doors. Best bit, his has som real good Italian red wine to share.

After an 2hr 30min energetic walk up and then 2hr to return taking 1800 steps, 12.5ks rising from 1200mtrs to 2000 mtrs above sea level to have lunch at Tribulaunhütte and a great feed it was. My walking partners gave me a hip flash full of top Tirolien schnapps to have a traditional drink at the top of the walk.

Now today is completely different, raining, over cast and I can't get out of my own way. Where has the sun gone.

Hi radar, sounds too energetic for me.

us: spent a couple of weeks free camping to see how long we could go.

Saw snakes today sunning themselves on rocks at a creek.

 Aus Kiwi hi

I thought I read some where you had given up climbing ladders.

It now some timeback I assisted a family friend who I contracted to paint our roof, he had his industrial high pressure cleaner on another job which was delayed so he borrow his father in laws small home pressure cleaner, I felt sorry for him and got my one out 5 hours latter had the tile roof cleaned of 21 years of black soot from the non polluting air planes that fly into Brisbane.

Next time if theres a next time, I just sell the house and move. What a job.

We are having a few days in Perth city, done all the free buses around the inner city, walked a lot of the foreshore, another day we did the Swan River cruise down to Freemantle.

Yesterday it was catch up with a niece time, have not see her since 1985 a young teenager, now enjoying life, a couple of career changes, a chef to a nurse, from Newcastle to Perth a lot happens in 32 years.

Today maybe a walk in Kings Park, the weather will need to improve.

Now at home after our 81 day break from our home in Brisbane, now the fun starts, first of the medical checks done, blood samples this morning, nothing wrong just those normal health checks.

Vacuumed the house, aired the caravan, surprised how fresh it was, indicating no dampness in the caravan.

Pulled a few weeds out of the garden.

Got all the batteries in the remotes controls updated, put all the batteries back in my radio controlled sailing boats, ready for a morning sail with the old mates.

Made a few phone calls to relatives and friends to tell them our phones are back on. Did not want them phoning us while over seas, to expensive.

Did some shopping for groceries.

Flicked though a pile of mail, mostly un interesting reading. 3 months of caravan mags.

Enjoyed a read of the GN Forum, got a giggle or two, maybe 3.

How that for a day?

Hi Rocket - where are you guys now? We are in Kambalda RV camp, just south of Kalgoorlie - sunny - about 18 degrees, bit of a breeze. Did a few jobs on the MH this morning, resting this arvo.

It is indeed a great life on the road.

Hi All

Rocket, Killarney is good spot for few days, just east of the township at the turn off to Queen Mary Falls there was a good rest area, have not been near it for 4 years, the Falls caravan park is good might be a bit expensive, we loved the area when we were tenting, falls walk, the birds, rabbit fence, Moss Garden and the drives around the Head of the Condimine River. The Clarence River starts at one of the falls also. A good area to get lost for few days with fresh air, probably to fresh at that altitude.

Hope you gave the Tourist Information a good shake down in Warwick.

Myself being resting up, well it laid me on my back, after picking up a flu bug, no prizes for that.

Yes Rocket, quite a few on the forum from WA - Sue and Phil, where we are staying, (sufil) - Vic and Carol (Weevil) - Cathy (Jayco Gypsy) - Jenny and Ron (ex Wombat) - heaps of others, too many to mention. We are expecting to have about 25 vans here for the long weekend in September - you should come over this way sometime, it is wonderful. The Nullarbor is a fantastic trip, we camped on the cliffs about 50m from the ocean, good free camps - lots now have dump points, toilets and internet/phone reception. Roadhouses for fuel and food every 260k or so.

Enjoy where you are, Warwick have a festival in July, called Jumpers in July - they knit jumpers and put them on the trees.

And Radar - get better quickly.

Very nice view - We are at a place on the Nullarbor near Southern Cross called Karalee Rocks and Dam - big dam, huge big rock - flat, with a stone wall. about 18 inches or so high, the water runs off the rock, round the wall to a channel with leads to a stone aquaduct for water to flow to the dam. Lots of these over here in the west. You should come over - beautiful places, can stay on the bitumen and not go on a dirt road at all.

You are missing out on so much.

Today I spun up a couple of wheel washers on the lathe for a grinder I'm making. I'm totally over bench grinders that shake, rattle and roll. I have one bolted to a stand I made specifically to sharpen drill bits (in a jig I made of course), the dam thing shakes like a rattler. Impossible to find a BG that has 'proper' wheel washers that hold the grinding wheels straight, so I'm making my own.

This type of drill sharpening is called four facet, used in lathes and such.   Takes me ages to do these things now with PsA, can only use my arms/hands for very short periods, and boy do I pay for it afterwards!

Nope, not a fitter and turner, it's just a hobby that went horribly wrong, I now have a workshop that puts many professional workshops to shame.   Keeps me of the streets at night!

Nice work, I know how you feel, when I turn my grinder on and pick up up the job bit that I need to grind, the grinder has managed to vibrate to the other end of the garage.

Never mind, its called exercise.

I am slowly getting the caravan ready to leave home for a couple of months. I am sure there was some small jobs I needed to do before we go again.

Amazing how you forget small things which will become important when your away in the caravan.

Have fun.
