Photos of the Big Wet in Central Aussie

Looking good for the Nomads to see, when the rains have gone and the roads are open again.....

Love some of those photos - especially the dog ones.

Have been lucky enough to see Ayers Rock in both its normal dry persona, and also after a lot of rain, with lots of waterfalls coming off it, and big rock pools around the base. I actually think it is more interesting wet!

Yes, the Red Centre should be lovely and green for a while now with lots of wildflowers - as you say, good for nomads to visit and see. But might be lots of bush flies too!

I noticed on the news tonight that Bendigo, Central VIC and about 70km away from Greens Lake, had flash flooding and storms as did parts of Melbourne and Victoria. We here at Greens Lake had about 6 drops of rain but the temps dropped to very compfortable indeed. The weather gods are threatening us with rain for the next few days though so might get a little muddy around here for a few days.

Interesting shots.

Seems they are able to not only predict the weather now, they can also take photo's of coming weather events,

I'm sure Bendigo and other areas around VIC would be happy to send some wet stuff your way KJ but here at Greens we have had a steady rain overnight and has settled the dust nicely. Not complaing yet but if we get heavy rain for a while we will get mud for sure and will limit activities somewhat.

Spose we could have a mud restling expo. " Gunaggo " and "Shady and Me" could head the bill biggrin

We would also like to see the Rock, but I have just worked out the fuel cost from Perth return,

not much change out of $ 3000 00 might have to wait for a few more pension payments to come in.

That's the trouble with living in the "Out-Post of Australia", It's a hell of a long way to anywhere from here. crycrycry

Great pics. There is nothing like the Rock in the rain. It is magnificent, the silvery grey, and then the purples as the sun changes. The desert comes alive. Had the pleasure of working and living there in my misspent youth, it rained a couple of times in the 3 years I was around the area. One time we were isolated for three weeks because of the rain, this was before the bitumen roads etc, when it was still the outback. Climbed the Rock and the Olgas after the rain and we were amazed at the amount of little fish that were in the water holes up the top. Loved swimming at Maggie Springs, forget what they call it now, and watching that waterfall come tumbling down.
It really is God's own country out there.
Was there a couple of years ago and it has lost none of its mystic and charm.
