Yes its in Wikicamps and it does exist I phoned them to book a camp site.
Reason for my question on the free/budget camps topics section of this forum is that I cant find anything about Roys Place on the internet. So thought I would find out if anyone on this forum has stayed there.
Very unusual that a budget camp can exist in the SW of WA and not have chatter about it on the net. There are so few budget camping opportunities in the South West so this could be a great find.
Think your calculator needs new batteries Brickies!
Comments from anyone who has stayed there was the question.
As I stated very few free camps in the SW that I can find except those that are for travelling such as 24 to 72 hrs stops.
Hi I am very fond of my calculator , Your post on free and budget camp site did state $5 unpowered and $10 powered and no other facilities so one would think to stay there you would have to be self contained , So my point was why would you pay to stay there if you were self contained if you were you would have your own power on board , I have stay at camps for $10 a night which had power and water toilet and shower only making an assessment , Sorry if you didn't want an honest assessment .
I was obviously looking for an honest assessment.
But from anyone who had been there.
As I say again, that was the question.
Nothing wrong with your post other than you havent been there of course so your assessment is not of any value to me or any other person following this.
As for $5 unpowered and $10 powered even with no other facilities other than a secure site where van can be safely left for the day close to a tourest town like Albany is in my books cheap. Most are happy to pay $7.50 each person in a NP and $6 to $10 for a bush camp with caretaker, of course no power but may be a dirty drop toilet that is digusting to use.
I guess what is cheap and what is expensive for you is up to you.
My only conclusion after a few days of submiting this topic is that no regular forum member has been to this place so I will have to rely on the comments made on Wikicamps from people who have been there. Perhaps my topic and question should have been " do forum members find the Wikicamps comments reliable"
moonraker. If you do use this place, how about doing the rest of us a favour (just think you wouldn't have had to go through all you did with brickies) and put up a post with some pics on the Forum so the rest of us can know all about it and have a look thorugh your pics as well as your opinions on it. I would really like to know if they supply potable water on site seeing as they offer powered sites - even if the water is not at each site. And perhaps you can tell us the nearest dump point and distance to shops (supermarkets, servos etc).
Thanks in advance (hopefully for that) Moonraker - and enjoy your travel and stay:))

Moonraker, It's good to see people raising conversations on new camp-grounds. However I suggest that this may not be the correct forum for these discussions. If you post them in this one - thegreynomads.activeboard.com/f474339/freebudget-campsites-suggested-by-our-contributors/ - then they will be found much easier in the future by others. The general forum should only be used for things that will not fit other forums. There is also too much technical stuff being posted here.

Thanks for your posts.
PeterD if you go to my original post of this topic you will see that I firstly raised this at the free budget camps topics. It was for the very reason of what you say in that it seems most dont view that area of this forum so much that I put this as a trailer in General Topics.
Until I last look there was no response there.
The comments Wikicamps are state this place is very good as well as showing pictures. My original post was based on me having no experience of the quality of the Wikicamps comments page. And i could find nothing on the net therefore I thought there may be members of this forum who may have visited this camp and could confirm that the place was OK or even very good.
Regards to the campsite. There has been another comment at Wikicamps which states Roys Place has only been open for 2 months and that the own is intending to build toilets and showers. From what I can gather the bore water is not good and the owner recommends toping up water tanks before arrival. If you are desperate for drinking water they will supply some of their own from rain water tank but advise that both dump point with drinking water taps are in Albany 15 km way. I have checked this and sure enough there are 2 dump points in Albany and as this is the town I expect most would visit while staying at Roys Place I think that is good enough.
All this I will be able to check during my visit.
But for us who have upgraded to a van which holds 485litres of water and 360ah of batteries with solar to match and full bathroom this type of camp site is exactly what we want if the above is correct. For us its great not to be lined up like sardines in a CP, however to make this place a little better good quality bore water would be the icing on the cake.
The big issue that I hope this private camp meets is the local council requirements as alot of these place get closed down before they get fully up and running. Its hard enough trying to find a good secure camp for more than 24 hrs stay as it is in the SW and I dislike the high cost of a CP when I font use any other facilities other than water and the space We take up.
When are you planning to visit this place and we all look forward to feedback onto your original post in the proper topics lol - hey, most of us understood why you posted here

Great bush camp for self contained rv only 15 ks to Albany super quiet and safe Roy a real gentleman very very helpful we'll worth the 10$ for powered site 6 here at the moment still room for a few more check ph numbers on wiki camps
Is this place still open - we stayed there couple of years ago for a week, with friends, great spot, quiet, and can only fit about 5 -6 in the front paddock. He supplies a huge container of water for every day use (not drinking), the chooks are your neighbours, and you can get eggs for $3 (was).
So does anyone know - open or not. I know Mermaid Leather and the Oyster farm were closed down - what a shame.
