Roy's Place Albany

Found this place on Wikicamps. Roy's Place, Elleker near Albany WA.

The Wikicamps comments page suggest this is a good camp about 15 kms out of Albany no facilities other than 240 volt power.

$5 unpowered $10 powered. Phoned the owner today and they definitely exist.

Seems it could be a great place for self contained vans. I welcome comments on this camp from anyone who has stayed there.

Cheers

Moonraker

G'day ironhore,    We would love to come down to Roy's Place but,  as I don't have access to Wiki Camps,

I'm wondering if you could give us some direction to his place, also could you please tell us what the contact number is.

thanks K.J.

Thanks for that ironhore,   I've had a look at Google Maps and found the roads as you described, no worries.

We will be giving Roy a whistle when we head down that way, hopefully within the next couple of weeks,

Cheers   K.J.

We have made it to Roys Place for a few days while we have a look around Albany.
This is exactly what I have been looking out for. This camp is for Wikicamps members with donations to Roy to cover his out of pocket expenses.
Need to be self contained, no drinking water but dump points and drinking water available in Albany.
This is an excellent base for exploring the area from Denmark to Albany.
This will be on our favourites list.
Noticed Ironhore is in here will say good day later this morning.

Just spent a week at Roys Place (6-13 May 2015). You need to be self sufficient with water, power and waste. While Roy has provided some people with 10 amp power, he prefers not to establish a precedent. The power icon in Wikicamps should be removed. Having said that, we had a fantastic time for $5 per night even though it drizzled for most of the time. It is a great base to see Albany and there is a lot to see and do.

If you like good fish and chips, try 'The Squid Shack' Swarbrick Street, Emu Point Boat Ramp, WA 6333 Phone 08 9844 9771, you will not be disappointed. On the return trip travel via Millicent Beach.

Spent a week at Roy's, happy hour around the fire each day, good banter and super friendly. Great walks on the fire trails.

Can recommend for self contained.

Got any more details on Millicent Beach?  I've been trying to locate it - is it in WA?

Hi all just noticed the above question and as we live in Albany the beach referred to is Middelton Beach .
Albany is buzzing at the moment with the Show and a visit by Prince Charles and Camilla tomorrow .

We are at Roy's place at the moment. Great spot - as they said, not far into town, which has everything you could need. It is a "self contained" camp, though there is a bit of water for washing etc., if you need it. Not a huge area, but quite okay to get into, there are three here now - us, another caravan just arrived, and a BIG bus. Haven't met Roy yet, hopefully he will come over later. We arrived without ringing, and a sign inside near the camp area says to make yourself at home, and Roy will be over to see you.
