Camballin WA

Hi, Has anyone stayed at Camballin near Derby WA. We managed to contact the shop there and they where very helpful but have been unable to contact the caravan park either by phone or email. want to know cost of staying at park or what the free camping there is like. and the big question did you catch a BARRA this is on my husbands bucket list to catch one. Thanks in advance for any help out there.

Cheers Maybell

Hey Val. Just googled Camballin and according to that you make the park booking through the nearby Looma Store which is presumably the one you phoned. If you didn't google it - just have a go and make sure the pho no is the same as the one you phoned.

Camballin is on a Station, but is tied up to an Aboriginal Trust which runs the store (and I guess, also the C/Park).

Being from WA, remember it s not a great idea to be up there at this time of year - cyclone season and very hot and humid

HI Bruce & Bev, Thank for the info, It was the Looma Store that I contacted after we couldn't get a answer from the caravan park, we were also under the impression that bookings maybe done through the store, but they told us they had nothing to do with the park. and yes we do know not to go in the wet not leaving until about late march early april.

Cheers

Val & Colin

See you out there in this great land of ours.

Are talking about staying at the barrage at Camballin - we stayed there some years ago in our camper trailer , but you could get a caravan in there . We couldn't catch any barra , but a girl from Derby came over and caught 7 in 45 minutes !!! I couldn't believe it ...... anyway it is (was) a free camping site .
