Gas Heating

I am thinking of gas heating for my van
Who has one installed?
I am looking for brands and costs please
Did anyone install it themselves except gas connection?

Allan

Truma gas heater the best one for vans, cost around 1500 for unit, and approx 700 to 800 to get installed, we have one it is fantastic.

Same with me, Truma. Price about the same too. Great so far but haven't had really cold weather yet but the couple of times I ran it early in the morning all indications say good investment. Don't let anyone tell you they are quiet though as I can hear the fan and when the heater actually fires up. Having said that, you get used to it in minutes.

Hello Al

We have a Truma gas heater in the van and it is the ant pants.   Used it a lot in Tassie last year.   Yes you can hear the fan, however, it's not too loud.

I fitted my self, positioned under the bed.   Qualified gas fitter connected the pipe work  and issued a certificate.   Total cost $1995.   No diesel smells, no extra fuel tanks. No yearly servicing.

Cheers

Another thumbs up for the Truma. Cost $1500 and a mate ( gas fitter ) fitted it for a carton of beer.

Would not be without it. And it is very quiet. Under the bed and just a slight hum.

Hi Al, Yes we have the same as everyone else.  We had it installed under one of the seating (my side!!) of the cafe seats. Oooooh so nice on cold feet in the mornings.

We have not been disappointed.

Truma is the only gas heater I have seen. You don't seem to have a choice of all the cheapies that you do with diesel heaters.
