Probably been asked before, but I am sick of flies and their mates enjoying the flysprays we pay so much for that never work.
I have just drowned a fly in my van and the bugger flew past me and I swear he had a smile on his face.
Is there a flyspray that actually works? Is there a repellent that actually works? Seems all these companies that advertise their product to be the best have never used their own products.
Now I know Billeeeeeee 7es uses the pink wand BUT!!!!
Sorry to hear those pesky varmints are givin' ya hell
But, Billeeeeeee (7e's) and Jules have it right I reckon.
I too use a simple fly swatter. All ya need is patience and WHACK!! .... the most effective method ever.
And of course the van does not smell like an industrial chemist's workshop either. I have yet to find a "fly killer spray" or "insect repellent" that works.
Patience and experience will ultimately prove successful and provide you with hours of enjoyment - vengeance is sweet.
cheers - John

You can get it at Saddleworld and similar places cos it's used on horses and us humans as well. Good stuff. I have been told only today it is in sparay form as well. I have discovered if you leave the lid off and sit near a door etc it helps keeps the pesky little blighters away as well.
Mortein have a Auto Spray system as well for outdoors and another one for indoors that's pretty effective as well. Runs on two AA batteries.

I can certainly proclaim that the little red can of fly spray I used on Monday evening worked. I reckon it killed thousands of the little buggers.
I accidentally left the van door open and the lights on. A couple of beverages later and the van was full of the little varmints. A fair dose from the little red can, and every horizontal surface was deep in bodies.

I spent the rest of the week finding bodies.
It certainly works when there are many targets.
Couple of bevies hhmmmmmm
happy new year mate. Might try that horse stuff Dougwe. Happy new year to you as well.
Yep we bought a zapper at Aldi , killed the little bliters dead but attracted millions more , fun though sitting there listening to the bugs crack , mmmm must have tooooo much time to kill.

Gday...
Doug, you piqued my curiousity .... so I got in touch wif me best mate - Mr Google. He told me about this site -
I work on a vineyard each year at Nyah which is an organic and bio-dynamic vineyard. They swear by that stuff too and provide it to the workers and pickers - free.
Interestingly, even though most others at the vineyard find it works very well, it doesn't seem to keep the flies off me.
Now I do realise that opens up a whole range of possibilities that you would just love to expand on, but I am banking on your complete gentlemanly upbringing to desist from deriding me. I am also a foolish optimist as well, you notice.
I'll stay with me fly swatter thingy for now anyway.
cheers - John

Another vote for Natures Botanical ..... Introduced to it out at Noccundra .... Never leave home without it ... Pleasant smell and no nasty chemicals. A bit expensive, but worth the price. I got it at Landmark agencies and stores.

Natures Botanical for us also. Introduced to it when we were working at Prairie Hotel, Parachilna. We even put it on our dog's face to keep the flies out of his eyes. Interestingly enough, it is not sold as a personal insect deterrent, due to the fact that there is no "proof" that it is such a product. It was originally developed for use on horses.
Miners out Moomba way are also given it as part of their PPE
Also, while we were in Parachilna, we purchased (from cheep shop in Port Augusta) one of those screen doors with magnets up the middle to close automatically when you pass through. Bit of a fiddle to install, but lasted for ages, and the flies could not work out how to get in the van.
