Tenting and Fishing

My 50 year old Son in Law wishes to take my two Grandsons, 11 & 9 year olds, on a camping (tent) and fishing holiday for a couple of days over the holidays. We all live in Caringbah ( south Sydney) so if any one can suggest a suitable place with showers and toilets within say an hour or two traveling time I will be obliged.

Preferred  fishing is a lake, estuary or river bank as opposed to the sea, but all suggestions are welcomed.

I travel in a motorhome and do not fish so I am unable to offer any suggestions;-(((

Many thanks and a Merry Christmas to everyone.

Some where around Nowra, or Becroft, on the coast looks like the place. There are a lot of nat parks or c/van parks on the water around that area.

Heaps of spots between Nowra and Ulladulla, very busy over Christmas though. And might be a bit far, but the closer to Sydney the busier it gets.

Think about Coral Tree Lodge Caravan Park at Greenwell Point, 20 min out of Nowra. It's on the Crookhaven River. It runs into the Shoalhaven River at Greenwell Point.
Park is right on the river with it's own jetty and fishing is very good.

Very busy over the first few weeks of the holidays but backs off later in the month. Park has BBQ's very large pool, shop and games room.

Next door is the Oyster Sheds, yumo at $12 a dozen. Bowling Club with excellent food on the other. Plenty of fishing spots outside of the park as well.

The "Backgate Fish Shop" sells fresh fish and chips, they have their own trawlers so only the freshest.

I taught my grandchildren to fish at this park and they are now addicted to fishing.

Park is very friendly, lots of holidays vans with young families.

You will enjoy it!

Hendo

PS. Tip, fish for flathead off the jetty at low tide, use plastics or white bait, sure to catch a feed.

We were at Caroar Dam a couple of month ago, the showers are not in a cubical (open) and are cold as well, it does get a bit windy as there wind farms near by, not to many flat spots, i think there is no fishing due to the low water, but the toilets are clean. Have a look at Wiki Camps App and it might give you some help where to go. Cheers reg
