Did you provide your old Telstra number when you signed up with Aldi, even as just a contact number? Aldi mobile uses part of Telstra's 3G network so maybe there's been a bit of cross-matching of phone numbers and/or account details (probably "for your convenience" although that's not much help if you're getting a new service to avoid harrassment or prank calls, etc.). Whatever, there appears to be some leakage of personal details somewhere.

If you didn't know the people calling it's pretty simple numbers are recycled after a time. Once using an old number by accident I tried to ring a relative, the number was answered but by a new owner. If you know the callers to your new number it may be data leakage or a call forwarding system.

When you change from one carrier to another i.e. Telstra to Aldi, you can transfer your same number. The Telco term is "Porting". You port your number from Telco to Aldi. That way you keep the same number. Probably a bit late for you now that you have done the deal...
