A tip I can give you is to "crack" the lid, that is add a small 'S' shaped hook under the lid, so the veg roast rather than steam.
A piece of bent wire will do similar to a coat hanger. Does not have to be big. Use a Trivet under the roast & vegies. Consider cooking the roast and veg separately.
