Hi Didi,

I have not had any work done by Phil, or do I know anyone who has. But i have spoken to him a few times, he knows what he is talking about, and the prices he gave me for semi flexible solar panels were cheaper than I could import the same panels for.

We also have semi flexible solar panels fitted and I coupled them up through a Votronic 420 Duo controller and use a Votronic 100s battery computer. Both sourced from Ebay but am very happy with them and they cost about the same as Plendos'  recommendation

Plendo you don't think there could be an issue with mounting them directly to the Roof..??

Given the choice I would insulate the semi flexible panels from the roof.

I have mine sitting on top of 10mm of insulation, with no air gaps. Now I have had some time to look at it, I would be tempted to get some light weight metal bent up to bracket the panels maybe 25mm off the roof, it would still be light, and would give the opportunity to dissipate heat rather than trap it in the panel as my config does.

I have talked this through with Phil at Solr 4 RV, and he sees the merit in the thinking as well.

When I did my install ,I just used 40mm square aluminium screwed to the roof and the panels mounted on them
